Today I have another ‘boobie’ post for you since it is still Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you haven’t seen my last post you can find that here.
As previously stated before, it is so so important to give your boobs a check for any lumps and bumps, which is why awareness is very much needed. I won’t talk about this too much since I spoke about how to check your boobs in my previous post, but I think we all need a gentle reminder to have a feel, hey! (I know I do)
Look Good Feel Better is a very special cancer charity, that has a completely different focal point in comparison to other cancer charities out there. I think it is easy to forget that the big C word can have a huge impact on an individuals self-esteem and confidence – Particularly in dealing with the side effects, such as hair loss.
These individuals have plenty of things to think about, such as emotional and physical pain, they certainly don’t need to have anything else to think about on their plate. This is where Look Good Feel Better come in. They provide skin care classes and make-up workshops which give great amounts of support to these women, allowing them to re-gain control for a healthier wellbeing and mindset. It is about taking back their identities, they want to be themselves, they do not want cancer to define them.
“The whole experience was outstanding. It’s not just about a bit of make-up, it’s not vanity – it’s about control. It gives women the strength to fight this horrible disease” Fiona LGFB Beneficiary.
Look Good Feel Better have partnered up with Bespoke Europe to create a collection of 12 make up brushes, and I must say they are BEAUTIFUL. I was kindly sent the Powder*, Concealer*, and the Detailed Eyeliner* brushes to have a play with… and I just LOVE them. You know when you pick up a brush and it just feels like it is amazing quality? That is just what happened here. Plus, I just adore the message behind them.
I must say, my favourite has GOT to be the powder brush. You don’t really realise how rubbish your previous brush was until you find one that you just get on with really well. It feels a lot more expensive than £12.99 when you pick it up, it kind of feels ‘heavy’ , not like brick heavy of course, it just feels like a high quality product. The bristles are super duper duper soft, and it applies powder to my face like a dream. Plus it is quite ‘fluffy’ I would say, so good for blending! Yano, in case you have a make up disaster, like I did with my highlighter the other day. Let’s just say I was GLEAMING.
The concealer brush (£7.99) is a very new experience for me. Now, for my concealer I normally use my Real Techniques Buffing Brush, because it is big, making it buff the concealer really well into my skin, but also very quickly. So seeing this little brush I guess is very different. But a good different, I really like this brush, but not for all of my concealing process.
I find that I am too impatient to use this brush under my eyes, since my RT Buffing Brush simply does it quicker. However this brush is FABULOUS at concealing out any spots or small patches of discolouration, because the bristles are packed all tight together. The product soaks easily into the skin in smaller areas. I always see Em from My Pale Skin using her finger when she applies her concealer under her eyes, and I think this brush kind of has the same effect as that.
I haven’t actually used the Detailed Eyeliner Brush (£6.99) yet since I only really apply eyeliner in a pen form. But since I don’t usually get on too well with the pen eyeliners, I might give a gel pot eyeliner a go, I will let you know how I get on with this brush in the future! But judging from the other two brushes I am sure it is going to be amazing! I am so so tempted to go out and buy the Multi-Tasking Brush, and the Angled Contour Brush when I am next in Boots!
Hope you enjoyed this post lovelies! These Look Good Feel Better (LGFB) brushes are such amazing quality, for not a huge price. Plus between 8% – 12% of the proceeds go towards LGFB and all of their fabulous work, supporting women with cancer. You can purchase these from Feel Unique, Look Fantastic, Beauty Expert and Selected Boots Stores. Do you have your eye on any of the brushes in this collection? Let me know in the comments!
