I hope you all had a wonderful Easter break, I sure did! It has been absolutely lovely to have a few days off for a nice rest, as well as my belly feeling extremely full and loved.
Anyway, for today’s post I thought I would share with you the lovely little event that I was very lucky to attend last week, LashesLive with Nouveau Lashes. The lovely Claire from Propaganda kindly sent me an invite to this event and I was super super super excited that there was an event in Leeds! (perhaps a little too excited!) apologies, this post is really quite photo heavy!
Nouveau Lashes is a brand I previously didn’t really have any knowledge about. After a quick google search I found out they are the brand that produced the lovely Millie Macintosh lashes! I have lusted over these lashes a few times, however I have constantly resisted purchasing them, being someone who hasn’t even attempted to apply lashes before! I have always feared of them looking silly on me and peeling off in the corners, looking like a spider!
Nouveau Lashes not only sell strip lashes, they also offer different lash treatments such as LVL enhancement at a professional level. LVL treatments add length, volume and lift to natural lashes. NL Technicians are trained to the best standard to ensure that they can give their clients the lashes they long for. You can also ensure that you are in safe hands when participating in a Nouveau Lashes treatment, which is really important considering you are letting someone play around with one of your most vital organs!
Before the event I met up with the wonderful Rhianna and Emma, it was absolutely tipping it down, but that didn’t at all put a downer on our moods! The event took place at The Malmaison Hotel in Leeds, a truly wonderful hotel! We were very lucky to be greeted with tasty treats and drinks, MmMmM.
yummy! The little burgers were so small and cute! I also absolutely adored the prawns! The sweet treats were also delicious, however really quite rich!
We were then whisked off into another room where we were given a presentation all about Nouveau Lashes and what they do. We then got to watch how to apply strip lashes, whilst learning a few tips, demonstrated on Corinne! Kellie then got settled down to have the LVL treatment, (they looked so amazing and natural afterwards!) and we all had the challenge of applying our own strip lashes! (This was kind of terrifying for me… such a lashes newbie!)
Let the fun begin….. First up, Emma and Rhianna

Mine and the beautiful Alex’s turn! I met Alex at this event – it turned out we both were following each other on twitter so this was lovely! Let me just say…. there wasn’t any beginners luck, I certainly wasn’t a natural!
At first I really struggled at applying these, partly due to not having an utter clue, and partly the pressure of being watched. I found it really fun to find out what eye shape I had. Often an error when applying lashes is not choosing the correct lashes to suit your eye shape. It turns out I have almond eyes and this meant I was able to pretty much choose any pair I fancied! I went for the Natural Strip 4, like Emma! What a lovely pair of lashes!
*For the newbies like me* At first twiddle the lashes around your finger to get a natural curved shape, pick the lashes up, use tweezers if you wish, and put them up against your eye to see if you need to trim them to fit. Apply the glue, WAIT for it to dry, and then lean your head back (this helps) and put into place, simple right? WRONG. haha, I had a bit of a boo boo and it turns out I was trying to use the right side lash on my left eye. No wonder I was struggling!
The lovely lady from Nouveau Lashes had to give me a hand with the first one because I just wasn’t getting the hang of it – was being a bit of a chicken! I pretty much feared the power of the glue and didn’t want to get it stuck in the middle of my eye lid and then not be able to move it! This wasn’t the case and it turns out once you brave it and roughly pop it into place you really do have the flexibility to move the lash around a bit! I DID IT! Yes there was far too much glue all over the place and you could totally see this – but not bad for a first attempt! Lots of fun and giggles!

& here are the goodies that we were so so lucky to receive! I am so grateful! Thank you so much Nouveau Lashes, and the lovely Claire for this wonderful opportunity and your generosity!
Three pairs of lashes to have a little play with! The natural style 4 pack was the pair that I had a play with at the event, but you can get quite a few wears out of them, put them back to sleep in the pack! – they were a lovely set of natural lashes! I also picked up the natural style 1, and glamour style 1 in case I am ever feeling a little bit more brave! Cannot wait to try these lashes out – just need the perfect occasion! I also hope I am better at applying them next time! Fingers crossed!
A lot of people at the event had noticed, that having a good glue is really important in strip lash application. The Ultra Bond strip lash adhesive really was incredible and powerful! *TOP TIP* Ensure the strip has plenty of glue, but THEN, the magic happens when you wait a few moments for the adhesive to dry. I learnt that a lot of people don’t wait long enough for the glue to dry – and that causes it to not work / last as long! Be patient ladies! I haven’t had enough usage of the conditioning serum to comment yet, but I will keep you updated! Sounds like an exciting product!
Have you ever heard of Nouveau Lashes? I really recommend the brand, they are really lovely lashes, I also believe that they are far easier to handle / apply compared to lashes that you may find in the drug store! Perfect for the newbie like myself! (They are a much finer strip, making them a lot less noticeable and far more natural!) I am now embracing the flutter flutter lifestyle! Love them! I also love love events, seeing bloggers you talk to in real life is always AMAZING.
Hope you enjoyed the post! Lots of Love,
