LIFESTYLE | Far Too Excited About 2016

Far Too Excited About 2016

Hello lovelies!

Would you believe that 2015 is almost over?  In just over 9 days we will be getting ready for a brand new year. New year, new me, you get me. I usually don't really say that sentence, but 2016 really will be a new year, new me, and I am just FAR too excited about it. Apologies about the grainy picture above, but I like my hair in it, and I look happy, and this post is all about happy exciting new things.

What makes 2016 so special, you may ask?

BEAUTY | Visiting the Leeds LUSH Spa

Leeds LUSH Spa Treatments

Hello lovelies!

I just want to say thank you so much for the lovely feedback on my previous post, I really really needed that! If you haven't read it already, you can find it here. I just want to SQUEEZE you all so so so much, you have made me feel all warm inside.

Todays post is about a company that is rather close to my heart, and OH I am very sure you are aware about how much love I have for this brand... (I might talk about it a lot, and post lots of pictures on Instagram, sorry, not sorry) .......and that brand is LUSH

For those of you that know how much I love Lush, then you probably know exactly how excited I was to be invited to an event at Lush in Leeds! FINALLLLY, I think Rhianna and I have been tweeting the Lush lovelies for quite some time now, and finally. YES. SUCCESS.

So, we were invited for an event of giggles with lots of other lovely local bloggers, and the chance to take a little sneak peek at the Leeds Lush SPA. After squealing for a good hour or so, I of course replied YESSSSSS.

LIFESTYLE | I Thought I Was Getting Better

I thought I was Better

Hello lovelies!

A quick rambly post today because I don't really have the time to blog, but I just feel sad and insanely anxious. I feel bad because it's December and everyone is uploading happy, positive, Blogmas posts, and here I am about to put a downer on it all, but I need it out of my system.

LIFESTYLE | What Did You Want To Be? #WEChildhoodDream

Workwear Express Childhood Dream

Hello lovelies!

It's my 100th blog post!! That is amazing! I feel incredibly proud, what an achievement.  I've started a few blogs in the past, but I have only written like 1 or 2 posts on them... but to think I have managed to reach the BIG 100! Fabulous - feeling oh so proud. Also, HAPPY DECEMBER! It is the month of Christmas, and I couldn't be more excited for the holidays.

Anyway, today's post has been one of my favourites to write, sometimes it is nice to reminisce and have a deep meaningful think about life. Does anyone else find it amazing how diverse our human characteristics are? What makes one person wish to be a policeman, and the other a nurse?

LIFESTYLE | Keeping Organised During Hectic, Busy Life

Hello lovelies!

Today's post is a rather spontaneous one, I think I came up with the idea of it in the shower this morning actually,  funny how all your ideas seem to appear whilst you are washing your hair huh?

People quite often ask me 'how do you keep up with everything Kayleigh?'

I am currently balancing final year - which consists of HEAPS of coursework, alongside a 15 hour weekly job, *attempting* to keep up with the blog, as well as YouTube, plus fitting in a long distance relationship, whilst trying as hard as possible to have some kind of a social life / chill time.

The answer to the above question is.... I DON'T. (I guess they don't read my rants on my blog about struggling really quite badly this year) But I am quite good at covering things up, and making it seem like things are all 'fine and dandy'... I guess that is because I am kind of used to it... for the last 2 years or so I have been really good at covering up my OCD compulsions, it is easier that way.

Anyway, that is not what this post is about, because I could seriously ramble ramble on all day about the struggles of keeping up with everything at the moment, so I thought I would talk about what can be done to manage hectic, busy, life situations. Those situations where you just feel like you are too exhausted, and overwhelmed, that you just aren't getting ANYWHERE, like you have hit a brick wall. AKA, my complete and utter life at the moment.

FASHION | The Comfiest Jeans I Have EVER Worn

Denham Denim Jeans Leeds

Hello lovelies!

You could say it has been a while.... almost two weeks since I last posted!  I guess I have been a little bit busy. Life hey?

I don't know about you, but I literally HATE jean shopping. In my opinion, it is the worst item of clothing to shop for, unless you are talking dress shopping, with a bloated belly, after that huge meal in Bills, that you already regret... kind of.

LIFESTYLE | A 'LITTLE' Honest, Brave, Life Update

A 'LITTLE' Honest, Brave, Life Update

Hello lovelies,

Today's post is going to be a little bit different today, kind of written in a story tale manner, a sneaky glimpse into my thoughts at the moment. It isn't the most positive of posts, something I usually try to avoid on VBC, but I do think it is a important one. I still don't think mental health is taken seriously enough, and it really should be.

I get told a lot that I look really happy all that time, so I can't suffer from OCD? But that just isn't the case sadly. My picture above, I look really happy, but you will see below that I am not really. Just because someone looks happy on the outside, doesn't mean they are happy on the inside, please do remember that, if that is all you remember from this post.

Say something kind to someone today, it could really make their entire day, week, month, year, life.

Hope you enjoy the post guys, do let me know your thoughts in the comments!

LIFESTYLE | VeryBerryCosmo's 1st Birthday!

Very Berry Cosmo Turns 1

Hello lovelies!

On a cold evening, this very day last year, I decided to sit down and type up my first ever blog post on Very Berry Cosmo!

I was at a point in my life where I was badly struggling with the nasty condition, that is OCD, it made me feel rather lonely, all of the time. I was on my year in industry, working full time, not having an awful lot to do outside of work to distract my wondering mind. My course friends were all over the country / world on placement, and my other friends in Leeds were all very busy getting on with their final years. I had been reading blogs and watching Youtube for a long long time, and I think I just felt like, why the hell don't I give this a go?!

Who'd have thought I would have kept it up for an entire year?! But I just bloody love it... So much so, that pretty much my entire social life revolves around my little internet platform.

BEAUTY | Make Up Brushes by Look Good, Feel Better

Look Good Feel Better Make Up Brushes
Look Good Feel Better Make Up Brushes

Hello lovelies!

Today I have another 'boobie' post for you since it is still Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you haven't seen my last post you can find that here.

As previously stated before, it is so so important to give your boobs a check for any lumps and bumps, which is why awareness is very much needed. I won't talk about this too much since I spoke about how to check your boobs in my previous post, but I think we all need a gentle reminder to have a feel, hey! (I know I do)

Look Good Feel Better  is a very special cancer charity, that has a completely different focal point in comparison to other cancer charities out there. I think it is easy to forget that the big C word can have a huge impact on an individuals self-esteem and confidence - Particularly in dealing with the side effects, such as hair loss.

LIFESTYLE | Five 'ME' Things, That I Actually Like

Five Me Things That I Actually Like

Hello lovelies!

Today's post title makes me look kind of like a narcissist... but it really is quite the opposite actually. I find I have a lot of self hate for myself, and I feel a lot of other people do also, since it is so much easier to point out the things you don't like about yourself, rather than the things that you DO like about yourself. I feel it is looked down upon to talk about the things that you like about yourself, but it just shouldn't be like that.

Everyone has features that they don't like about themselves, yes. everyone. even Beyonce. This post isn't a 'showwy off' post, but for once I will mention the things I DO in fact like about myself and hopefully send positive vibes my way... because do you ever just have that day where you are like 'my blog content is just not good enough, or I am just not pretty enough to talk about beauty on my blog' because I have it ALL THE TIME.

It's sad that I have seriously struggled to even come up with five things... why do I have so much self hate?

FOOD | Stepping Out Of My Comfort Zone at Bar Soba

Bar Soba Leeds South-East Asia Cuisine Restaurant

Hello lovelies!

Today's post sure is a DELICIOUS ONE. Oh how I would love to be experiencing these hella' good flavours right now, rather than my soggy limp student pesto pasta. (even if it is covered in a mountain of cheese)

A couple of weeks ago I was very lucky to attend Bar Soba in Leeds, a restaurant offering South-East Asian cuisine, made with the finest, freshest ingredients. Originating in Scotland, there are also 3 restaurants in Glasgow and 1 in Edinburgh.

You know when you arrive somewhere (late, may I add, I couldn't find it!) and you just instantly fall in love? That is what happened here - the venue is absolutely stunning, very blogger friendly! Look for yourself.....

LIFESTYLE | #ShowYourStrap For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Show Your Strap Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Hello lovelies!

You may have noticed that Very Berry Cosmo has been a little bit quiet for two weeks now, and that is because I had a BIG deadline for university, in total I wrote about 17,000 words! Isn't it funny that I could totally, easily, write that amount of words on my berry filled blog, but when it comes to Uni work, IT IS SO HARD.

Anyhow, I am back, I hope you missed me :) I'd firstly like to say a HUGE thank you for the support from you lovelies on my previous post, I never expected the response to be like that, it was quite overwhelming, I am so grateful and I hope you enjoy the book if you do read it. Let me know how you get on!

Today's post is important, really important. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The C word is a scary word. Each year almost 55,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK (women AND men), with the shocking statistic that 1 in 8 women in the UK will develop breast cancer during their lifetime.

There is often a misconception surrounding breast cancer, that it is 'a better cancer to have' in comparison to others, due to the success rate but breast cancer is in fact the cancer type that is the second most common cause of death of women in the UK.

BOOKS | This Book Could Very Much Save Your Life

Reasons To Stay Alive Book Matt Haig
Reasons To Stay Alive Book Matt Haig

Hello lovelies!

This post has been in my little brain for quite a fair few months, but I guess I just haven't felt ready to post this yet. . . until now.

This is a recommendation from me to you, that this book really is incredible. It is called "Reasons To Stay Alive" by Matt Haig. I probably wouldn't write this, nor open up so much in this post if I didn't think that this book was extremely excellent and helpful.

I admit, the name of the book sounds rather morbid, but it really is quite the opposite actually. It talks about a sensitive topic in a light hearted manner, providing hope for anyone suffering from depression or any similar issues.

LIFESTYLE | My Blogging Goals & Challenges

My Blogging Goals and Challenges

Hello lovelies!

Today's post is rather positive because lets talk about my BLOGGING GOALS! I think it is important to set yourself some goals to try to aim for...

1. I think having goals is extremely self motivating.
2. It makes you feel REALLY good when you achieve your goals.
3. I simply like making lists of things. Is that such a crime?

I'd like to reach these by 2016, and I am going to keep coming back to this post for a reference and to use the cross out button! (if possible, some are more achievable than others, I admit some are sure going to be a challenge, particularly with final year at University, but I like to think I am ambitious person)

YOUTUBE | A Beginners Guide To Youtube

A Beginners Guide To Youtube

Hello lovelies!

Today's post is something a little different to what I normally talk about, and that is the world of YOUTUBE! For those of you that don't know. . .  I have a Youtube Channel!!! On my channel you can currently find my vlogs, where I typically film days spent at exciting blogging events! (or if I do anything particularly interesting in my life...) I am looking to extremely expand my channel and begin to do some "main channel" style videos! My first step towards this is buying a tripod! :)

So, I thought I would write up A Beginners Guide To Youtube Post. By no means do I feel I am an expert at Youtube or Vlogging, however I do believe I am an absolute expert at being a beginner. What I mean by this is, is that I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT I AM DOING. But I am getting there. So I thought I would share what I have learnt so far, since I have spent far too many hours googling questions to count.

THIS COULD BE LONG. VERY LONG.

LISTS | Problems Bloggers Experience At Events

Problems Bloggers Experience At Events

Hello lovelies!

Tomorrow I am attending the event #BloggersFestival run by the fabulous Scarlett London. I am SUPER SUPER excited. There are so many wonderful bloggers attending, some I have already met and some I have yet to, (but CAN'T WAIT TO).

I think it will be the biggest blogging event I have ever attended, and I guess that can feel quite overwhelming, no matter how excited I am about the event, because I bloody am.

I always have a nasty little voice in the back of my mind. Whoever's voice that is, it would appear that they really don't like me. They particularly like to come out to play when I am feeling on edge and anxious. Attending blogging events reminds me of similar feelings that you have when you are starting a new school or something like that. Excitement with a mixture of butterflies at the same time.

The typical thoughts I have before an event include:

Will people like me? Will people think I am a bit weird? Will people think I look different in person? (in a bad way) Will people think I am as funny in person as I am on Twitter?

With these points in mind, I thought I would construct a list of "Problems Bloggers Experience At Events"

BEAUTY | A Little LUSH Haul

Lush Oxford Street Exclusives

Hello lovelies!

WOAH, where did August go? I can't believe it is September! This sadly means that Very Berry Cosmo is going to begin to get quieter and quieter over the next coming months whilst I head into my final year of University. SCARY

A few weeks ago I popped into my local Lush store to find that these wonderful, previously Oxford Street EXCLUSIVES had made it to Leeds! I hadn't planned on buying anything, was just having a browse, but when I saw these goodies it would have been RUDE NOT TO - wouldn't it?!

EVENTS | #B3CharityRevamp for Martin House

#B3CharityRevamp For Martin House Children's Hospice

Hello lovelies!

Today's post is about a lovely little event that I attended last night. (That is what I originally wrote when I began this post.... but I went to this event over two weeks ago now :( Oh man! BAD BAD blogger) I have definitely made this post MUCH harder to write... I always find it harder to write a post about an event that was so long ago now. Waaa! ... I will learn.

Anyhow. This was a super lovely event run by PR company Branded 3, a cute evening to raise money for the excellent children's hospice, Martin House.

For those of you that don't know, Martin House is a really lovely charity in the North. They provide a friendly, safe and positive environment for severely ill children, who sadly will not get better :( They provide care for the child, support for the families, whilst being in a lively, fun and loving atmosphere to ensure the children have the best quality of life as possible. They are SUCH a lovely charity.

FAVOURITES | Blogs I Love When I Am Feeling...

Blogs I Love When I am Feeling Mood Flowers

Hello lovelies!

Today's post is a post filled with love. From personal experience I know just how wonderful it is to receive either a lovely comment, tweet, or mention in a blog post that someone has written.

So that is what we are doing today! Sharing that blogging LOVE.

There are so so so many blogs out there, so it can be really hard sometimes to catch your readers attention. If you are like me, I tend to read a good amount of blogs (should probably branch out even more) and there are certain ones I ALWAYS go to when I am in a particular mood.

SO, naturally I thought to share them with you guys, and then maybe you can find yourself a lovely new little blog to obsess over. (I promise I am not obsessed with you guys..... I just love reading / looking at your blogs so much!) This will be quite a long post lovelies, so do grab a cuppa! (doesn't have to be tea or coffee by the way... I know they are gross.....)

STATIONERY | Big Box Of Lame

August Big Box Of Lame That Lame Company Stationary

Hello lovelies!

Today is quite a special post. One that I have been excited to write for a while now! About a month ago Chloe and Charlie from That Lame Company emailed to ask if I would be interested in being sent a Big Box Of Lame* (it really isn't that lame by the way, IT IS AWESOME)

Of course I said yes. Some of you may know that I went to school with Chloe and Charlie, with Chloe being one of my best friends I am just GUSHING WITH PRIDE at their cute little company. Their products are lovingly handmade, often hand drawn or painted. I am so proud of them and way too excited to be a part of their #BigBoxOfLame campaign launch!

EW I hate the word gushing, but oozing would be gross too.

Shall we take a look inside the mysterious box? I know Felix wants to...

BEAUTY | A Little John Lewis Haul

Hello lovelies!

Don't you just love John Lewis? There is something extremely magical about that place. The adverts at Christmas say it all. Whenever I visit my boyfriend in Liverpool I could literally spend HOURS walking around that store, and he really doesn't understand why.

IT IS AMAZING, THAT'S WHY

I could honestly buy that entire store. It is the kind of store that makes me want to grow up fast and have my own little home filled with all of their lovely home and kitchen ware. But for now, I love it for their BEAUTY SECTION.

Having worked at Waitrose for a few years... (joined in 2010, oh maaa god) I have been very blessed to have a discount card at John Lewis... a rather generous 25% off everything except electrical items at 12.5%. This will be the reason I have 9 MAC lipsticks.... I mean 25% off MAC lippies?!?!

About a month ago now I had my final shift at Waitrose. I woke up on the morning and was like RIGHT. I need to have my final discount spend. I took myself to twitter, and you all said I needed to buy EVERYTHING. Which OH I would have loved to, but we had to be a little bit more realistic didn't we :(

Let's see what I spontaneously purchased! I didn't go too crazy by the way, but I picked up some lovelies!

LIFESTYLE | Healthy Smiles with Nano B

Healthy Smiles Nano B Toothbrushes

Hello lovelies!

Today's post is one that is quite close to my heart. For a while now, dental health has been something that really preoccupies my mind, probably a lot more than it should do.

During second year of University, I would say I was in quite a dark place, in terms of my mental health. I worried about e v e r y t h i n g - I still do, just not to the extent that I did. I would constantly be petrified of things and cry several times on a daily basis, I wouldn't feel safe unless I was in tucked up in my bed.

Let's talk about one of my worries.... TEETH. You may have seen a previous post of mine. I spoke about my constant worries about my teeth falling out - you can read that here. But that isn't really what this post is about.

So.... I am going to try to describe my thoughts, whilst trying to sound as 'normal' as possible. Almost two years now (gosh....) I had just been diagnosed with my mental health problem. I feared of contamination and dying far more than anyone else that I knew. The cleanliness of my toothbrush was a particular problem of mine.

TRAVEL | Bristol Adventures with Cross Country Trains

Cross Country Trains #FindYourNew Bristol

Hello lovelies!

Today's post sure is an exciting one! A few weeks ago I was given the opportunity to take a wonderful adventure to Bristol with Cross Country Trains. It was something I just couldn't say no to, no matter how busy my life may be at the moment. My challenge was to seek out some lovely little attractions in Bristol!

I have been to Bristol before a few times, but I haven't really explored the city too much, just been there for a spot of shopping, so I thought this was a lovely chance to! I just wanted to explore! (The shopping experience is amazing too though by the way, just saying)

I found my dream in Bristol, with Cross Country Trains. CCT are a train provider that offer a service from pretty much all over the country, particularly one corner of the country to the other corner. Kind of says it on the tin really...
Cross Country Trains #FindYourNew Bristol

The 'main' train goes through many major cities in one DIRECT train making the service super super handy. Meaning you can sit back, relax, and just get comfortable knowing you won't need to get up and move to swap trains. This is something I love. I don't like getting my laptop out really unless I know I am sitting on a train for at least an hour. Because yano, effort.

Just for a little peek at some of the cities you could visit on this service...
- Edinburgh, Newcastle, Leeds (LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS), Sheffield, Derby, Birmingham, Cheltenham Spa, Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth, Penzance, Cardiff, Nottingham, Reading, Oxford.... and more. So many lovely adventures! Don't you just want to go somewhere new?

Shall we see what I got up to? I vlogged this day too by the way if you want to be even more nosy!

FOOD | Summer Specials at The New Conservatory

The New Conservatory Leeds Summer Specials

Hello lovelies!

Today's post is a YUMMY one. Why oh why am I writing this post whilst I am hungry? What a mistake that is.

A few weeks ago I was kindly invited to The New Conservatory in Leeds, to have a taster of their new summer menu. A really convenient location, city centre, right next to the Trinity Shopping Centre, with about a five minute walk from the train station!

I had been here before for drinks, (I just didn't know the name of the place... DOH, I do now though!) the drinks are really delicious by the way, particularly the English Garden Cocktail, because... GIN <3

The New Conservatory Leeds Summer Specials Menu

I had the pleasure to be dining with Rhianna and Joe on this lovely evening. Once seated, with prosecco in hand, we were given these menus, and I just remember looking at it like WOW, my mouth was watering, and that was from the desserts alone! I have a weakness for ANYTHING salted caramel flavour, and a weakness for cheesecake. It was a guaranteed winner.

My July Favourites

Hello lovelies!

I know I am not the only one thinking this... but MY GOSH. IT IS AUGUST. It really scares me that in a blink of an eye it will pretty much be 2016! Also, new month and all, have you noticed my shiny new Pipdig blog template? I hope you like it! I am rather pleased with it.

But anyway, today I am here to share with you my July favourites. You may have noticed that I haven't uploaded a monthly favourites in a while, which is a shame because I love favourites posts, mainly because they are always so positive! (Well duh, because they are your favourites...) With this being the case, a few of these products have been a favourite of mine for the last few months.

LIFESTYLE | Why Am I SO Indecisive?

Indecisive University Student Dissertation Graphic Design

Hello lovelies!

Today's post is kind of one of those rambly ones. One of those posts where I haven't really had any thought about what to write. I am quite simply tucked up in my bed, cosy, on a Sunday afternoon and talking to you about life, and how I feel right now. I love these posts. I think they are my favourite.

So, what are we talking about today?

WHY AM I SO INDECISIVE????

I have always been quite indecisive. You know the drill, that situation where someone asks you where you want to eat and you just reply like I don't mind, you pick. Bang, that is the problem. Being afraid of confrontation, just wanting to settle for what the other person wants, almost to please them. (Even though you really crave a really tasty Wagamamas) So yeah, okay I am a pleaser.

I spent the weekend with Alex, Rhianna, Emma, Sophie and Lou. It was wonderful, it was like living in a little blogger house! I love these guys, I really do. I don't even really call them my 'blogging friends' anymore, because to be honest, they are simply my friends now, and I don't know what I would do without them! *awwwwh soppy moment* It does bring a tear to my eye when I think... I met these girls on THE INTERNET? What?

LIFESTYLE | 50 Things To Do When You Don't Have Wifi

50 Things To Do When You Don't Have Wifi

Hello lovelies!

Some of you may be aware that I moved house just over two weeks ago and I stupidly didn’t set up broadband in advance, which means I have been without wifi since then. No Netflix SOB SOB. (don’t worry though, I have been seeking out wifi spots for PLL, I HAVE to)

Living without wifi is really quite hard, especially when you are a blogger. You don’t REALLY think about how many daily activities in your routine require it… UNTIL you take it away. I have already spent so SO much on 3G on my phone, opps!

In today’s post I thought I would make a list of fun things you can do without the holy grail that is WIFI. I mean, for most of my childhood I didn’t have it… and I turned out okay, didn’t I?!

Let your inner child out!

LIFESTYLE | A Little Life Chat, From Me To You

A little personal lifestyle chat tea and cake Victoria Sponge
Photo taken by the lovely Sophie <3
Hello lovelies!

I think today might well turn into quite an emotional rambly… but I guess that is just how I am feeling this week! I really apologise in advance if the post seems like it just doesn’t make sense... you are seriously having the raw cut, straight from my brain right now, as if we were sat down in a coffee shop together, with a lovely hot drink, and a big slab of cake, just talking about life. Me to you.

University is a great experience, it really really is, and I would recommend it to anyone, I really, really, really would…….

But.

All I can say is, University can just be SUCH an EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER.

I find I feel quite anxious and on edge throughout the University year because I constantly just want to do my BEST and stress out if I don’t achieve what I expect to. But to be honest, this part of University didn’t surprise me - all the deadlines and everything were expected. However what I am talking about today is something you don’t really think about when you send off your shiny UCAS application…. And that is SAYING GOODBYE.

Summertime is such a wonderful time, but also such a sad time. You get the freedom from deadlines (that you have literally been wishing for your LIFE, for the last 9 months) BUT it is that time of year where you have to say bye to your University friends. WHAT? I don’t get to live with my best friends for three WHOLE months?! How does one survive….. Who am I going to have pizza with at 3am? Who am I going to talk to when I am feeling sad at ANY HOUR?

But all is okay, because you know you are going to see them again soon and living with them, literally attached to the hip in no time.

Not this time.

I joined University in 2012 and now it is 2015, it marks the year of graduation. (With courses being typically 3 years long) I am doing a four year course, but a lot of the people I know were doing three year courses which means they will be leaving Leeds this year SOB SOB SOB. It saddens me so much that a few of my besties aren’t going to be in Leeds, they are going out there into the big old world looking for jobs, it is such a weird feeling because we started this experience together, but we aren’t finishing it together. (& gosh I know they feel sad for leaving too) I feel I shouldn’t be here without them. I KNOW I will see them again soon. I find I am fine when I have events booked in the calendar to meet up with them, I feel in life I get upset about the unknown quite a lot. Having the time scheduled in the future pleases my mind a lot, and gives me something to look forward to.

Just over a week ago my boyfriend moved out of our accommodation. And that was WEIRD. I have lived with him since first year in halls, so you can imagine how strange it is for me now that he isn’t going to live with me. I won’t lie. A bit of space really has done wonders I think. I am literally SO excited to see him next week at his graduation and you can imagine that excitement bubble kind of dies when you see someone everyday. But like I said, it is all okay at the moment because I have this scheduled in, so we will probably have to have something planned in immediately after to put my mind at rest and to look forward to. It is so hard to go from living together then totally switching it up to long distance :(

I think I am just the kind of person who sometimes finds it hard to accept that life moves on. You aren’t going to be friends with the same people forever, life moves on, people move around the country / world, you change as a person whilst meeting all sorts of different people along the way. I hardly talk to anyone who I used to hang out with a lot at A-Level age, but that is life I guess! Sometimes it is just not meant to be.

The main reason I am writing this post is because I am coming towards the end of my year in industry this week. Friday is my last day working for the University of Leeds, and I have honestly loved my year so much. I have learnt so many skills, grown as a person and met some wonderfully fabulous people. I know how much I am going to HATE saying goodbye, even though I am going to meet up with them still next year, it doesn’t matter, I will still be SO sad. You can bet your bottom dollar that I am going to absolutely BALL my eyes out on Friday, and at my leaving do tonight actually!

Yes. I am THAT girl. I am absolutely pants at saying goodbye. I really am.
- DO not look at me in the eye (I can’t do this, it makes me weep)
- YES that is my lip wobbling uncontrollably
- Try not to talk too much about what is happening either hahaha.

Basically, saying goodbye is POO, I wish we never had to do it! Saying goodbye just isn’t a comfortable human emotion. I hate saying goodbye to my dad at the train station when I go back to Uni, I hate saying bye at the end of relationships, falling out with friends, I hate saying goodbye to my friends / boyfriends at the train station. Gosh aren’t train stations horrible places to be! I just don’t like not seeing the people I love and care about for prolonged periods!

However, sometimes saying goodbye is a good thing. Saying goodbye to my nan last year when she sadly passed away was the most heart breaking thing I have ever gone through, but the closure was also what I needed, and I am so glad I visited her in the chapel of rest, a very very sad, but very much needed moment. One that I will cherish forever.

Hope you enjoyed this post lovelies, Can you relate to this, do you hate saying goodbye? Or am I the only one who literally can’t look someone in the eye when I say bye, without wanting to ball my eyes out! (Obviously only works over a prolonged period… I won’t cry if I am going to see you later that day or something, that would be silly!!!

*Sorry for the ramble, our drink is probably very cold now!!*

Love you lots,

Kayleigh xoxo

FOOD | Nak'd, Delicious Gluten, Wheat and Dairy Free Goodness

Natural Balance Foods Cereal Bars Nak'd Healthy Wholefoods

Hello lovelies!

I would like to firstly, apologise for how POOP I have been on Very Berry Cosmo recently. I haven’t posted in over a week (and a half now) and I just feel so so horrible and bad about it, but it is just one of those times I guess! Moving house last Wednesday, working full time still and not currently having any Wifi in my new property makes it a little bit of a challenge I guess. But I AM BACK, I am here! :)

I just want to start this post with.... HOW DO YOU SAY THIS BRAND? Is it... just nakd? or is it naked? Because I have heard both ways of saying it and I seriously don't know... all I know is I LOVE THESE DELICIOUS THINGS.

Anyway, back to the post. I have loved these bars for some time now. The flavour ranges are great, absolutely gorgeous branding and most importantly, they don't contain any little nasty ingredients.

These gorgeous HEALTHY Nak’d cereal bars. Yes, HEALTHY. When I say healthy, I mean, that they contain natural ingredients. They mainly contain dates and quite often cashews, with fruit juice and a hint of natural flavouring. So you can enjoy the sweet goodness that you love, and not feel guilty. I wouldn’t suggest eating like 10 of these in a day, because yes they do contain quite a lot of sugars. But they are NATURAL sugars that do the body good, just take it easy on the teeth yeah?

So when the lovely Fran contacted me on behalf of Natural Balance Foods and asked if I would like to be sent a DELICIOUS case of 18 bars, in a mixture of flavours*.... I just couldn't say no! I was just SO excited to get the opportunity to try out some of the flavours that aren't available at my local store! I like to have one kept in my desk drawer at all times for that little energy boost to get me through the day.

You may have seen recently that I have been moaning on twitter (a little…. A lot) and generally feeling really quite sad. (also explains my quietness... I am scared) Basically I have been suffering from a really, really, really, sore tummy for some time now, and this week I’ve been having a lot of doctors tests to figure out what is going on in there. I admit I am PETRIFIED for the results. The natural human response is to think the ultimate worst, particularly when you are someone who experiences a lot of health anxiety, linked to my OCD. (I basically have a huge fear of dying young) but who doesn’t?  I spoke about this in my previous post why do we worry?

One of the things that I am being tested for are intolerances. Nak’d cereal bars are wheat, dairy and gluten free, plus they are also vegan, which makes them the ultimate versatile snack! Until you really have to think about the ingredients that are in your food, I don’t think you really realise how difficult it is to continue your normal habits and diet whilst cutting out wheat dairy or gluten. The first thing to cross my mind when I think about having  an intolerance is.........

PIZZA???????? And CAKE.

You guys know I LOVE pizza :( But there are lots of really delicious alternative options out there in supermarkets, for things like milk, pasta, cheese, cereals, cakes, you name it, stores seem to be increasing their ranges. The misconception that free from foods don’t taste as nice is complete crackers, I have found some really gorgeous foods including these Nak’d Bars! SO MANY FLAVOURS TO TRY heart eyed emoji. (They aren’t to everyone’s taste, but I guess that is the same with all foods!)

Want to learn more about dietary needs? I do hope this page helps, I know it can be daunting at first, and really hard to cut out your habits at first, but if my tests come back positive this week I am sure we can get through this together! Drop me a message! I may even do a future foodie series on foods / meals you can eat when you are suffering from intolerances, but hey, I am not a chef… so don’t judge tehehe.

My personal favourites are Berry Delight, Cocoa Orange, Cocoa Delight and Bakewell Tart!

Have you ever tried Nak’d Bars? Do you have a favourite flavour?! You can buy them in lots of stores including Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose, or you can buy in bulk – with a wider variety on the Natural Balance Foods website!

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do, I might go and have a Berry Delight one now… MmMmM… because let’s face it, breakfast options always taste better at night time.

100% yummy, 100% vegan, love your body, nature is nice!

Take care lovelies, I love you a lot!

Kayleigh xoxo
