BLOGMAS #7 | Benefit, Do The Bright Thing Kit | Gift Ideas

Benefit – Do The Bright Thing

Hello lovelies! I do hope you are enjoying my BLOGMAS journey 🙂

Today is another kind of ‘gift idea’ post. I really love this kit by Benefit, it is the only kit I have so I thought I would share it with you today!

This kit is £26.50 on the benefit website, but sometimes you catch it with 10% off at like ASOS or Debenhams, so keep a look out! It may seem to be pricey because the products are only small. BUT surprisingly these products do last a really long time!!

I think this kit is an absolutely perfect gift for someone that wants to try out some Benefit products for the first time. I had heard amazing things about the they’re real mascara as well as the eyeliner and really wanted to try them out, but perhaps not fork out the full amount in case I didn’t like them!

The best thing about this particular kit is, that it contains really good quality everyday ‘essential’ products! It is just a good all round kit, it has a bit of everything rather than just focusing on eyes or cheeks etc, it is a really lovely kit!

It includes:

– that gal brightening face primer 7.5ml

– dandelion brightening face powder 3.0g

– they’re real mascara 3.0g

– high beam highlighter 4.0g

– BADgal black waterproof liner 0.5g

– powder brush.

I often go a bit crazy with highlighter, I love me a good bright face, which will explain why I purchased this in the first place… but yeah, in all seriousness… these all very very good products!

Let’s discuss them a little…

That Gal:

I’ve read really mixed reviews about this product, some love it, some don’t see the same effects. I think it dependent one skin types… I usually use this one with my Benefit Porefessional. I use Porefessional under my eyes, and I use that gal on top for when I have a really DULL face and want to BRIGHTEN it just that little bit more…. (My poor eyes always look so so tired) I like it and all, but probably wouldn’t buy a big one, which is why it is a lovely edition to this kit!

Dandelion Powder:

A really gorgeous powder, I find it suits my skin tone perfectly. I am very very pale though and it gives a subtle natural tone, with a little glow, which I loveeee. Unfortunately this probably wouldn’t suit darker skin tones since it is really really really light. My only criticism is that I wish this powder was in a little pot that you could take out of this kit. It is quite annoying that everything else can be removed except this!

They’re Real Mascara:

Oh wow….. this mascara is AMAZING. I feel I may need to purchase the full sized one because I LOVE it. I currently only use it for nights out, because I find that my eye lashes look quite extreme and extra extra ‘voluminous’ when I wear this… and perhaps not what I want at work but WOW for a night out, perfect. Stays on really well, I find it doesn’t smudge, or budge at all really… and lengthens them really well too.

High Beam Highlighter:

I really like this highlighter. I think I prefer liquid ones like this in comparison to a powder one, like in my Sleek Palette. I use both but find I notice the ‘glow’ more after using this one! Really pretty on the cheek and brow bones and it lasts a really really long time! Love it!

BADgal Eyeliner:

It glides on really smoothly with full colour, as well as having the staying power. I find it doesn’t smudge like cheaper eyeliners I have used. Not sure I would pay the full price likewise to that gal, but it is a lovely feature to this kit!

Powder Brush:

I used this for a bit, but I find I prefer my Real Techniques Brushes so I use these instead, but this is perfect for on the move if you want a small brush, or to take this whole kit with you!

OH. And the kit has a mirror, which is ALWAYS handy

Overall a pretty fantabulous kit!! I love the products and the packaging <3

Do you have this kit? Or any full size of these products, do you love them too?

Will you be asking for / buying this kit for anyone?

Thanks for reading, catch you tomorrow!
