BLOGMAS #2 | Waitrose Christmas Cupcake Range

Waitrose Christmas Cupcake Selection!

Hello! 🙂

Welcome to #BLOGMAS #2, doing well so far…..

Some of you may know that I work at Waitrose, on the Patisserie (Cake Counter) and I am seriously impressed by the CUTE cupcakes this year! I struggle all day at work starring at these cuties, that I had to buy some to eat, and of course BLOG about!

* Just a quick note, I wasn’t asked by Waitrose to post this, and I also paid for them all myself. *

I find that everyone – young and old, loves a good cupcake, whether they are given it or even if they buy it themselves. I love seeing the smiles on customers faces when they are trying to choose their cupcake and when I hand it over! Not being biased or anything… but I find that Waitrose ones are really tasty and very pretty to look at (when you don’t squash them slightly on the way home like me! opppss!) The cutest has to be the reindeer cupcake,  LOOK AT HIS NOSE awwwwwh!! 🙂

I guess you would like to know what flavours these beauties are?!!

Gingerbread Star Cupcake – £1 – ( I think )

This one feels really christmassy I find. With a spiced sponge and cream cheese icing plus a cute gingerbread star to decorate it. I didn’t think I would like this one, I generally don’t like gingerbread, but my colleagues said it was really good, so I thought I would try it! Was actually really tasty, kind of reminded me of carrot cake.

Reindeer Cupcake – £1.20

Awwww it is so cute! This one is a chocolate sponge with a salted caramel buttercream icing, with sugar decorations and a jelly bean nose 🙂 This cake is pretty tasty, the salted caramel isn’t all that overpowering because otherwise it may been a little sickly, it has a nice hint of flavour 🙂 Definitely a little lovely to try!

Snowman Cupcake – £1.20

This one is also a little cutie, although often he loses his nose 🙁 The other snowmen on the cake stand must get a little hungry…. whenever I serve someone I’m always like ‘would you like one with a nose?’ hahaha. The snowman cupcake is a golden sponge and vanilla buttercream, sprinkled with coconut and a few sparkly bits (edible – they don’t quite show up in my photo booo)

Christmas Pudding Cupcake – £1

This one is pretty, and stays pretty even when you take it home! Some of the others are a little more delicate, but this one is quite sturdy! A pretty standard cupcake, chocolate sponge and chocolate buttercream with icing decorations, perfect for that chocoholic! All in a cute christmas pudding shape 🙂

Finally, saving the best, in my opinion till last, Christmas Tree Cupcake – £1

This one is cheeky, it has a yummy sponge hidden under that icing and cup case!!! I am an absolute sucker for a red velvet sponge… they are just SO DELICIOUS. This cake looks so so gorgeous in store, but I find that the buttercream icing is so so squidgy that it may not make it home quite so pretty, but it is totally delicious so it really doesn’t matter!! A red velvet sponge with a tasty green vanilla buttercream with a sugar star on top ( Mine may be hidden now:( ) and sugar sprinkles, it really is the ULTIMATE christmas treat!

Please note, there are a few more in the range but I chose these 5 to show. They may only be available in certain stores, perhaps not in Little Waitrose’s although I have seen some in the Leeds one, but not all of the range.

Will you be popping into your local Waitrose soon and giving yourself a treat?

Which one sounds the yummiest?

Thanks for reading, see you again for BLOGMAS #3 tomorrow!
